Hi, there! I'm Susan, and this is my little space to share my passions with you... thanks for stopping by! Welcome to my collection of found recipes, learned techniques, and other musings of the baking variety. I'm happy to share my discoveries.

I've loved baking ever since I was small. My first official Barbie set was, of course, the bake shop and cafe. I thought it would be fun to own a bakery and wear a Pillsbury-style chef hat, but dreamed of being an astronaut or movie star - more practical options for a six-year-old.

I didn't pay much attention in astronomy class and left the stage in college, but picked up baking again during my senior year. August of 2013 brought my life around full-circle, when after a heartfelt discussion with a roommate I decided to pursue baking & pastry as a career, after all. Who's to say it's not practical?

In 2014, I earned certification from Toronto's Bonnie Gordon College of Confectionary Arts, and spent a year working part-time at a small cake shop in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I've since moved to the Raleigh, North Carolina area to pursue full time employment... and more importantly - opening up a sweet shop of my own!
